The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Downtown Armstrong Facade Improvement Program. The program supports property owners and businesses making visible improvements to downtown storefronts.

Get approval before work begins

Work that starts before the chamber approves your project cannot be funded. That is a condition of the program funding from the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior. Talk to the chamber first, then start your project.

Who can apply

Property owners and businesses with storefronts in downtown Armstrong can apply. In 2026 and 2027, preference goes to properties on Pleasant Valley Boulevard North.

Funding is limited. Applications are considered in the order they arrive.

What can be funded

Eligible improvements include:

The grant covers 50% of eligible project costs, to a maximum of $5,000 per project. It is paid as a reimbursement after the work is done.

How it works

  1. Send in your expression of interest. You do not need final plans or quotes at this stage.
  2. The chamber contacts you to talk through your idea and whether it fits the program.
  3. If it fits, you complete the full application.
  4. Wait for written approval from the chamber.
  5. Do the work, and finish it by February 28, 2027.
  6. Send your invoices to the chamber, and receive 50% back to a maximum of $5,000.

An expression of interest is a first step, not a promise. It does not guarantee funding, and it is not project approval.

Permits and planning

Some exterior work needs a permit from the City of Armstrong. Check with the city Planning and Development Services Department before your plans are final. The city Official Community Plan sets the direction for the downtown core.
