Armstrong Regional Co-op and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) are donating $30,000 to Caravan Farm Theatre through Co-op’s Community Match Fund.

The gift will support the theatre’s Timber Barn Venue Adaptation Project. Plans include removable fir board cladding, theatre drapes, and more folding chairs. The changes will provide better protection from sun, wind, and rain and keep the barn’s open-air feel.

“The Caravan Farm Theatre is a special local non-profit that brings people together and creates lasting memories right here in our own backyard,” said Jason Keis, Marketing & Community Relations Manager at Armstrong Regional Co-op.

The upgrades will make room for more uses, including plays, concerts, cinema, barn dances, and community events. Better lighting and weather protection could also support Indigenous programs, seasonal events, and matinee performances.

“With this adaptation to our Timber Barn venue, we look forward to gathering community members together throughout the year around stories and events that inspire a sense of awe and possibility,” said Vicki Stroich, Environmental and Education Programs Manager at Caravan Farm Theatre.

Caravan Farm Theatre will announce the project schedule at a later date.

The nonprofit outdoor theatre operates on an 80-acre farm about 11 kilometers northwest of Armstrong. Armstrong Regional Co-op selected the theatre for its contribution to the region’s cultural life.
