Scarecrows on the Street 2026
Our much-loved Scarecrows on the Street is back, and this year it is joining the Harvest Pumpkin Festival.
The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses and organizations to take part in Discover Downtown: Harvest Pumpkin Festival Edition - Scarecrows on the Street Trail, a fun, festive challenge that fills downtown Armstrong with scarecrows and gives residents and festival visitors a reason to explore our local businesses.
How it works
Participating is easy:
- Create a harvest-themed display that includes at least one handmade scarecrow. There is no size limit, so go big.
- Give your scarecrow a name. Visitors will follow the trail to find each scarecrow and record its name.
- Display the numbered trail marker supplied by the chamber alongside your scarecrow.
- Visitors will explore participating locations, vote for their People’s Choice Scarecrow, and enter the Discover Downtown prize draw.
- Want to give back too? Participating locations can collect non-perishable food for the local Food Bank as part of the Food Bank Challenge.
Use what you already have: straw, flannel shirts, old hats, hay bales, pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, or a costume that shows off what your business does.
Need a scarecrow? Let us know. We may be able to connect you with a youth group or school class willing to build one, or make it a fun team-building project with your staff.
Recognition
Recognition includes People’s Choice Scarecrow, plus every participating business and organization is entered in a participant prize draw.
Important dates
- Register by: Friday, September 25, 2026
- Scarecrows ready and displayed by: Thursday, October 1, 2026
- Harvest Pumpkin Festival and Scarecrow Trail: October 2 to 12, 2026
Final voting and prize details will be shared with participating businesses.
