My family moved to Spallumcheen in the mid 1970’s. I attended school in Armstrong, played minor hockey there for 7 years, and worked at Van Der Meer’s potato farm on Otter Lake Road.
After graduating I worked in the Oil and Gas Pipeline Construction Industry for 6 years, I started as a laborer and worked my way up to Inspector. In my late twenties, I returned home to Spallumcheen, attended Okanagan College, worked at Walther’s GM as a Service Consultant, and met my husband Wade. In 2004 we started our family and in 2009 I was encouraged to run in the local election.
I have lived in Spallumcheen for over 50 years, and I have always loved the rural lifestyle. I currently volunteer as the president of The Good Food Box of North Okanagan and have represented our community as the Mayor for the past 8 years.
