Hello, neighbours! I wanted to introduce myself properly. I’m Roxanne Landry, some of you know me as a PAC mom, and this year I’m running for trustee of SD83-Area 1.

I call Armstrong home, and I’m running because I love our rural communities: Armstrong, Spallumcheen, Falkland, Silver Creek, and Ranchero. They deserve a voice that shows up, listens, and advocates for our students both within our district and our Province.

My priorities are simple: transparency in how decisions are made, support for every student and the educators who meet their diverse needs, advocacy for funding from the province, and connection, because our area is spread out, and every parent deserves to know they’re heard.

You may not know me and that is ok. Let me tell you a few things. I’m not new to advocating for kids. My own children are on the spectrum and that in itself has years of research, reading and conversations to make sure they had what they needed. Then they became school age and while we have entered our 5th year here in Armstrong I was an active PAC member the moment my kids became school age. That didn’t change when we moved here. I found that the schools were welcoming and looking for parents who wanted to be involved. Now it’s time to deepen that resolve, the advocacy with our ministry for our district and have even more transparency that the rural part of the school district wants so badly.

If you have questions, concerns, or just want to know where I stand on something, send me a message. I’m here to listen.
