John Trainor is a candidate for Mayor of Armstrong with 18 years of previous experience on Armstrong City Council. That service gave him familiarity with the City’s systems, infrastructure and financial responsibilities, as well as the relationships connecting residents, local businesses, community volunteers and the Township of Spallumcheen.

John is running on a commitment to open communication, collaboration and responsible leadership. He wants residents and business owners to have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them, particularly changes to downtown Armstrong. He proposes bringing downtown businesses and residents together to identify practical ways to improve access, parking, traffic and activity in the commercial core.

His priorities also include reviewing the City’s five-year financial plan with attention to the burden on taxpayers, especially seniors; strengthening the City’s relationship with the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses; rebuilding a respectful working relationship with Spallumcheen on shared services; and protecting local decision-making on land use and neighbourhood development.

John believes Armstrong can learn from the past while moving forward through listening, fiscal responsibility and cooperation.

Pride. Spirit. Vision.
